🍩Instant gratification vs. 💪Delayed gratification
Hey guys, today I would like to introduce you to two core concepts that you should know for your personal development and for achieving your goals.
These two concepts are instant gratification and delayed gratification. In one hand, instant gratification is the pleasure you’re getting from scrolling through social media, eating junk food, masturbating, going partying, etc.
On the other hand, delayed gratification is the satisfaction you get after months and years of working hard, as the aesthetic body you always wanted.
I am introducing you guys to these concepts because I want to cut your instant gratification activities, you should stop doing them now.
I know it can be hard, so at least try to make them a little part of your day, and do them at the end of your day, when you had completed your most important tasks.
You should do this, because instant gratification makes you feel good right now, but it has detrimental effects on the long term.
While delayed gratification will make you feel uncomfortable, but it will give you immense benefits in the long run.
Delaying gratification will make you the best version of yourself, and I want to try this every time you have to make a decision.
When you are about to eat and your lizard brain starts craving junk food, think about the instant gratification vs. delayed gratification dilemma.
If you eat the junk food now, you feel pleasure at the moment, but you are making your goals more difficult to achieve.
You, guys, should start thinking about the long-term by prioritizing delayed gratification.
I can tell you this will fix almost any problem you have in your life. By making you uncomfortable, and resisting the temptation, you will grow and build the discipline you need to make your dreams a reality.
Come on man, I believe in you, choose the hard way!
